legal-and-settlement
What happens after an offer is accepted?
The parties exchange the offer details with their solicitors, work through the formal agreement and complete any conditions before settlement.
After the seller chooses to proceed, the relevant offer and contact information can be sent to the parties' solicitors. The solicitors prepare or review the sale and purchase agreement and confirm the formal terms.
The buyer and seller then work through agreed conditions, such as finance, reports or solicitor approval. FiSBO's Deal Room can help track milestones and communication where enabled, but it is not the legal agreement.
Once conditions are satisfied or otherwise dealt with, the agreement proceeds toward settlement on its agreed date. The solicitors coordinate the legal and settlement steps.
